Opening next week in East Lampeter Township will be a brand new medicinal marijuana business.
At 2405 Covered Bridge Drive, the Apothecarium will occupy a 4,300-square-foot space adjacent to Target and offer medical cannabis items like flowers, oils, concentrates, capsules, tinctures and topicals. In the past, the space occupied an Xfinity retail store.
Toronto-based TerrAscend purchased Pennsylvania-based Ilera Healthcare last year, giving it ownership of the Lancaster Apothecarium. The shop will include merchandise from the Illera brand.
The Apothecarium will join Cure Holdings, which opened in the former Kmart complex on Fruitville Pike in Manheim Township in March 2018, as the county’s second medical marijuana dispensary.
In February 2018, patients with qualifying medical conditions were to legally get medical marijuana in Pennsylvania, where the user was legalized in 2016.
Businesses providing “vital services,” such as dispensaries for medical marijuana, are exempt from limits on operations that are designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
